RELICÁRIO
Eleven years after the inception of The Walking Dead, a cult series with a vast global fan base, the end arrived. To commemorate the characters, Relicário was established. From the creation of eleven handcrafted, unique ceramic artistic pieces to several exhibitions worldwide.

For the art pieces we invite the portuguese ceramists Ana+Bethânia to create 11 unique relics, all numbered and in real size. Selected based on the analysis of data from a decade of fanblogs, sub-reddits, social media comments and +170 episodes.
DESIGN PROJECT & VISION
The challenge is underway, calling for the development of a distinctive graphic identity, particularly a unique logo, and the establishment of a strategic positioning for the project.
The Relicário project has been crafted with a narrative that draws inspiration from the past, infused with a contemporary typographic flair, ensuring its distinctiveness and irreplicability.
The logo and visuals was inspired by the Musegraphic process used in Museums. Also back to so me manual exercises of using a stamp as a the medium to re-create the daste, the antique, but with a modern feeling.
In 2022, this project won the Golden Award of Experimental Logo by Type Directors Club.
The TDC competition, established in 1953, is the longest running, most prestigious, global typography and type design competition. Now in its 70th year, these awards are all about how letterforms are used and drawn, recognizing typographic excellence and celebrating new typeface designs in all global languages.
